April Ross

April Ross was one of the few female beach volleyball stars who won medals at several Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join her in Tokyo. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. And at the age of 39, this could be her final chance to accomplish this. However, she's confident that top honors are firmly within reach. Ross on NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing very well, or even at all, they could win a gold. In addition, I'm planning to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and sister. Ross's athletic endeavors began at Newport Harbor High School where she played in a variety of different sports. She was a basketball player and also ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. She was clearly the best at the sport of indoor volleyball. In her time at high school, she was a middle blocker outside setter and hitter at the tennis court, according to her college bio. In recognition of her work, she was honored as an 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. Additionally, in 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Ross is playing with Klineman since 2017 but her beach game was established well before the year. In reality, she was a winner of multiple major tournaments using two partners, one of which is a volleyball icon. From 2007 to 2013 she was in a partnership with Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Together with Kessy Ross was awarded the World Championship in 2009, while racing in the international circuit. The duo would go into winning a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross became Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. Together, they took home bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics of 2016. Ross began her college professional career playing for the Trojans of USC after high school. It was a long time before Ross made her debut on the beach and became a professional. Her experience at USC was impressive. Her freshman year in 2000 earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the award and become an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to reach the Final Four with her help. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season, but she still repeated in the ranks of an All-American. Through her two final years in the Trojans team, she led the Trojans to winning a national title each year. The achievements of each individual have established her as a volleyball legend. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross had been an international studies student at USC. Unfortunately, Ross mother Margie did not get to see Ross rise to the top levels of beach volleyball stardom. Ross's mom passed away due to breast cancer when she was a sophomore in USC. However, she keeps her mother in her his heart. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her in and out of the water.
