Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to notoriety after she released her first album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number in the year 1994. The singer was barely 15 when the album became Gold. R. Kelly was a key influence on the collaboration which put the singer into the spotlight. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland came out with Aaliyah's sophomore album One In A Million. The album contained the single If Your Girls Only Knew, the single that was most popular. Aaliyah became a household name as an R&B artist following the release of her second album One in a Million. She appeared alongside martial arts legend Jet Li in 2000's romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die. Her role came about when she was spotted by the film's director Joel Silver at an awards ceremony. Queen of the Damned was her first film role in 2002. It is based off an Anne Rice novel. In 2003, she starred on screen in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. In 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2003 the singer was nominated for four Grammy Awards. She was born in Connecticut to the family of Indian origin. Mann is a contraction of her husband's last name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her formal name. However, she also uses Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. While she started out with minor TV and film parts, her acting career started to gain growth in the latter half of 2000s. In addition to The Big Bang Theory, her notable other works include Leverage (2013) Suits (2014) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017.) The actress has been featured in a variety of commercials including Volvo's international car producer. She currently lives with her family in Los Angeles along with her husband, daughter and pursues her acting career.
